Laundry pickup in Abdoun
A doorman hands over the bag, a partner laundry does the work, and the order comes back to your door ready to wear — that is how most Abdoun bookings run, seven days a week. From 8 JOD, bundle price on screen before you confirm.
The four services, the partner laundry and the price list are identical to the main laundry and dry cleaning in Amman page. Abdoun's own quirks are the doorman handover and the size of a villa's weekly wash — that is what this page covers.
Bag size and the doorman handover in Abdoun
Abdoun sits on both sides of the Abdoun Bridge in West Amman and is mostly villas with gardens or terraces alongside large low-rise apartments, three bedrooms and up, often with a maid's room and several bathrooms. Two things flow from that.
A house this size produces bedding-heavy laundry: several sets of sheets, a stack of bath towels, and a maid's room that adds its own load. Since the wash-and-fold bundle is priced by piece count rather than by visit, letting linen build up into one proper collection costs less per item than sending the same pile as two or three smaller ones through the week.
Getting the bundle out the door is usually simple, because most Abdoun apartment buildings have a doorman. Leaving the bag with him and noting his name in the booking is how most Abdoun customers arrange a pickup when nobody is home — and tell us if the finished order should go back to him too. Villa gates are the exception: say whether someone will let the driver through, or whether a guard hands the bag over.
Occasion wear also shows up more here — suits, embroidered abayas, silk, formal dresses for a wedding season or Eid. That is dry cleaning, priced per piece, and belongs in its own bag rather than mixed with an everyday wash.
Laundry prices in Abdoun
Nothing about the rate changes by postcode. A wash bundle — iron or fold — is priced small, medium or large by piece count, so a fuller bundle costs less per item. Dry cleaning is priced per piece because a shirt and a beaded dress are not the same job. A minimum order value applies, so a single dry-cleaning item is worth adding to a wash bundle. A rough count at booking is enough; the bundle price shows before you confirm.
How an Abdoun household typically splits a bundle:
| Send it as | Items | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| Wash and fold | Towels, bed sheets, gym kit, everyday t-shirts, children's clothes | No benefit from pressing — the cheapest per-piece rate |
| Wash and iron | Work shirts, blouses, trousers | Comes back pressed on a hanger, ready to hang in the wardrobe |
| Iron only | Clothes already washed at home | A steam and a hang, useful ahead of travel or a function |
| Dry cleaning | Suits, embroidered abayas, silk, cashmere, beaded pieces, leather | Water ruins tailoring and shrinks wool; charged per piece |
Towels never belong in the wash-and-iron bag — pressing them is money for nothing.
What the service covers
Every order gets the same four options as the rest of Amman: pressed wash and iron, folded wash and fold, a steam-and-hang iron only, and dry cleaning for anything the label rules out for water. Collection, a logged count, and return delivery are included — the laundry page has the full breakdown of each service.
Outside this service: rugs go to carpet cleaning in Abdoun, sofas to sofa cleaning, mattresses to mattress cleaning — cleaned in place, not sent out.
Collection and return in Abdoun
Have the bag ready at your chosen window — collection runs 9 AM to 9 PM, every day. Parking is rarely the holdup in Abdoun; the handover is what needs a plan. For an apartment, note whether the driver should come up or collect from the doorman. For a villa, say whether the gate will be open and whether a guard hands the bag over. A building or villa name plus the street beats "Abdoun" on its own.
Turnaround is one to two days; embroidered or heavily beaded dry cleaning can run longer. Flag a firm date for a suit or abaya at booking and we confirm before collecting whether it is realistic.
Keeping on top of a villa's laundry
A large household's laundry arrives fast enough to justify a standing weekly slot: the same window, wash and fold for the everyday pile, wash and iron for shirts, dry cleaning added when there is something to send so the minimum order value looks after itself. Check every pocket first — a forgotten pen ruins a wash cycle — and check the return against the pickup count.
