Why a kitchen is a grease problem, not a dust problem

That film does not come off with a general-purpose spray and a quick pass. It needs a degreaser, a few minutes of dwell time and mechanical work, surface by surface. This is why a kitchen takes longer than a room of the same size.
Hob, burner caps and splashback
The hob is cleaned as separate parts rather than as one surface. Burner caps, crowns and trivets come off and are soaked so that baked-on spills soften instead of being scraped.
